"I was looking at some of your pictures, and I saw something: The Contrabass oboe looks exaclty like the tenor Sarrusophone. Did anyone else notice this?"
Yes, that's true but in one of his articles about sarrusophones Gunter Joppig has a photograph showing both the sarrusophone and contrabass oboe in the same photograph next to one another. This shows the differences clearly and also that he can be under no confusion of nomenclature and that the contrabass oboe is definitely not a sarrusophone as some writers imagine. I'll try to check the details of the article over the weekend.
