If any news comes out about the Soprilla Sax (price range, maker,
resellers, availability) Please pass it on.

Ripamonti has a "low G"??? Is this the infamous G bass? I couldn't get
their page to finish loading, else I would look there.
That wood contra is a nice-looking horn. An interesting solution to the
length problem, though the m/p might sit too low for some (like me).

Nope it's an octave higher. The G mezzo-soprano, as it's sometimes called.
Pitched a whole-step below a standard A clarinet.

>>I knew of the one in between those, and for some reason I can't think of what it is called, except sopranissimo. That's in Eb. But an octave above Soprano?
I believe the one in berween is called a sopranino. I love the extreme
ends of the octaves.
Rick
There are photos of the Eb sopranino, and soprano saxes in Bb and in C on my website .
I just got a fax from Benedikt Eppelsheim who makes the Soprillo saxophone, and it sounds as if he is putting them into production later this year, which confirms Simon Bull's report.
Eventually, I hope to add a Soprillo to those photos...
...and maybe a Bb subcontrabass tubax thrown in for good measure, just to keep this contrabass related and to cover those extreme octaves for you, Rick...

I would love to check out a Soprillo someday.

Tubax ? I think we need somebody to get production started on a Bb
subcontrabass Saxophone and if I had the money, I would. But you can get a
Tubax too. From what I've heard from everybody, those sound pretty nice.
