Hello my friends,Two years ago I visited Paris and brought back 2 extra copies of the English
edition of the picture book, Musée de la Musique. This is a 66 page
publication with photos of the Musée and the other builidngs in the Cité de
la Musique; and more pertinently, of the highlights of their extensive
collections. Amoung the illustrations are serpents, bucinae, a showcase of
instruments by Adolphe Sax including some good views of early saxophones,
another full of Sarrusophones, lots of early brass, flageolets, a Grassi
curved cor anglais, a Richters tenor oboe, an Eichentopf oboe d'amore, 19th
century brass, and a bizarre photo of an orchestra of 7 women dressed in
diaphonous white robes, like togas but sexier, playing Ondes Martinots under
the direction of a similarly clad conductor. For the 2 copies I had in 1999, I had over 40 requests. This time I brought
back more than 2.If this interests you give me a holler privately.
Regards,
Robert Howe
