Contrabass List, #19

books
Another few good references are Anthony Baines' "Woodwind Instruments and their History", his book on the history of brass instruments, and The Oxford Companion to Musical Instruments (I'm sure I've mangled all the titles here...). Anyway, these are probably my primary references when it comes to instruments.
For continuing education, there's always the Galpin Society and the American Musical Instrument Society ( AMIS ), each of which has scholarly publications.
Enjoy!
