contra-fest
I can understand aboput your having your hands full. I am forwarding your email to me to all of the contra-basoonists of the world that I have email addresses for, after all, this is not my crusade, but rather a collection of their desires through feedback to me. I ask the recipients of this email to put their heads together to consider the input from Mark Finc. I suspect that each IDRS convetion host will feel the same way.
I have already initiated conversation with the Lions Clubs opf Madison, Wisconsin. It will be interesting to see if they can and will conduct a contra-fest in Madison the 2 days before or the 2 days after the IDRS function (seperate building, seperate registration, sepetrate meals, seperate logistics staff). If they can pull it off, it would be perfect inasmuch asit could only bring more people to both functions.
I will ask Megan Ulmer to coordinate the programming of the contra-fest as she did this year, and the Lions only then need to coordinate the logistics of lodging, meals, receptions, booths, etc. Lions are experts at doing this as they do it many times each year throughout Wisconsin.
Let's keep our fingers crossed. Probably no more feedback from me on this until I return from Haiti Jan 25.
Mark

Hey guys! Hows it goin?
First, my connections probably won't come throught twice, and I was wonedering, what issue was the octo-contrabass sax in, Mr. Cohen? I know I'll probably have to buy something (topical index), but if I can avoid it, I'd like to. Its not the product, its that I'm kind of low on the $$$.
Yes, I was thinking of making it some weird shape. but then, no one would associate that with the saxophone family.
Thanks,
Nick

You're in luck! I've managed to upload both the cbcl file, and a similar cb sarrusophone file. You can download them directly (probably more efficient than email anyway) at http://www.contrabass.com/page/cbcl1.wav and http://www.contrabass.com/pages/cbsar1.wav .
Enjoy!
