I have a whole lot of jazz by Eric Dolphy, (awesome), one record by Ron Oldrich (awesome, but straight-ahead) and some by Herbie Mann (right the flutist, played Bass Clarinet back in the 50's)

Re: contrabass-list V1 #53(Adventures with AMI)
Welcome to the world of low clarinets. 15(cant be that long ago) when I ordered my Selmer low C bass I had to wait 4 months. When I ordered my Vito Contra I had to wait a few months. Off the shelf does not exist.

Re: contrabass-list V1 #54, Yamaha basses
I had a chance to try some Yamaha basses at the school my friend teaches at. I would rather play the old Bundy than the new Yamahas. I own a Low C Selmer, so I guess I am spoiled.

I just wanted to tell that i'm currently planning to write a orchestral work, including contrabassoon, bass and CB clarinet, and perhaps even heckelphone. If there's any ensembles out there interested in performing such a work, or other people looking for compositions, i would like you to contact me immediately.
