Subject: Re: Scott
Robinson's CD using contrabass things
Scott Robinson just brought me a copy of his CD "Scott Robinson: Thinking Big". It was released by Arbors Records on CD 19179. He says that Tower's may be stocking it. But the record company, Arbors, can be reached by e-mail at < mrd@gate.net > and they have a Web site at < http://www.arborsjazz.com >
He plays sarrusophone on one cut ("Mandy, Make up your Mind") and also plays bass sax, contrabass sax and even theremin (standard not contrabass!)

Subject: Uh! The frustrations of a
contrabass obsessed person...
Okay, I'm sure you all remember me saying I'm getting a contra-alto clarinet, then contrabass then back to contra-alto. Okay, well I was serious about contra-alto and my parents had the money and everything was set, right? Wrong! We called 4 different stores and they shortest waiting period was 150 days; longest is 18 months! Crazy huh? Well, I finally decided on bass clarinet, so it's in the mail right now. Can a bassist out there please tell me good things to get me even more exicted? I am getting a plastic Vito with the Eb on the bell. BTW, I also ordered it with 25 Rico 3 1/2 reeds (3 1/2 because I play that number on sax, so I figured it would work for me)
