Subject: Re: [CB] Sarrusophone recital !
Sorry about the late reply - I've been at an ultrasound seminar and now am practicing for an upcoming audition...
Anyway, I will play 1 or 2 pieces by Walter Hartley written for bass sax , a piece for cornet by Arban, Variations on a Theme by Robert Schumann by William Davis for contrabassoon , the Sicilienne by Paradis, perhaps an arrangement of a Chopin etude and a Brahms Intermezzo, and possibly an etude by Paul Mimart ( the only music actually written for the sarrusophone !). I have to send the piano parts out to Banff and will rehearse with a staff pianist there the day before the recital . I will certainly talk some about the instruments and have all six on display although I will only play the bass in the recital.
Looks like I may well be doing a sarrusophone recital in Seattle on Aug 24 as well, which most likely will be a repeat of the Banff recital. I will try of course to have the program set before getting to Banff, so I will need to rehearse with a local pianist and time the whole thing including any talking...Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to the whole thing!
