CD Review:
Just found another CD by the Vienna Flutists, "Discover the Magic of the Flute" (1995?, Koch International DICD 920255). The ensemble includes flutes from piccolo down to F sub-bass, playing the "Dolly Suite" (Faure), "Beruit" (Rahbari), and several works by Debussy: "Petite Suite", "Marche ecossaise", "Trois chansons de Charles d'Orleans", and "Suite bergamasque". The bass and sub-bass flutes in particular are nicely recorded, and come through well. Beautiful stuff - just don't try to drive while listening... ;-)
