Subject: Re: [CB] SARRUSOPHONESSarrusophones are still available new by special order from Orsi in
Milano. I have a 1980s Orsi Bb soprano Sarrusophone in like-new
condition. It uses a reed comparable to that of the oboe d'amore,
fingers like a Saxophone, and sounds like a very bright oboe. With
practice and some reed making, I am sure I could make it sound
better. New, they went for 5.2 million lira in 1993 (about 3700 US$)
with the prices incresing up to 20M lira for the Eb contrabass. The
case was extra. Anyone who would like it (I have two, the other is an
antique) may write me privately.Robert Howe

Hi,
Received the following message, regarding a nearly new Orsi
contrabass sax for sale. The current LA Sax list price is US$39K
(according the their website), but $27K is still a pretty good
discount from the list price...The website is worth checking out too.
