Octave clef???? Do you mean Octave KEY?
Confused

Thanks,

So, with all the discussions about how low one can hear, if two bass saxes
play low notes together and they're out of tune, do you hear the difference
tones? (grin :) )

I read an article on the Tubax on the web that said the instrument was a bass
in Bb, but this contradicts other reports I have seen.  Tommie, or anyone
else on the list, is the tubax a genuine contrabass in Eb?

Fortunately, the Sept/Oct issue of the Saxophone Journal is now out,
and contains Paul Cohen's review of the soprillo and tubax.  The
tubax is definitely in Eb.  His column also mentions a CD of Bill
Elgart playing the tubax along with other low winds ("Zollsound 2
feat/WJL2001).
