Subject: Another Sarrusophone Recording
Reply-To: contrabass@contrabass.comJust discovered another jazz sarrusophone recording: Keith Ingham & Marty
Grosz "Stomp Off" (1997, Stomp Off Records, CD1323). The disc is mainly
old-time jazz, and includes Scott Robinson on clarinet, SATBBs saxes, and
contrabass sarrusophone (on track 8, "I like to do things for you"). The
track in question has an extended sarrusophone solo, where it is clearly
audible and clearly a sarrusophone. The sarrusophone credit doesn't appear
on the CD jewelbox, but is mentioned in the liner notes. As a bonus, the
whole CD has a lot of great, melodic bass sax: Adrian Rollini reborn ;-)Enjoy!

Subject: Contrabassoon Festival?
Reply-To: contrabass@contrabass.comIf memory serves (it does *sometimes*), the 1999 Contrabassoon Festival has
ended. Did anyone attend? Anyone have experiences to relate, reviews to post?Actually thought I was going to make it this year, but unfortunately it was
scheduled too close to my wedding anniversary (and I couldn't talk my wife
into celebrating it in WI).Hoping for next year...
